This book covers all the major front-end web development topics: XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript (and AJA X). Coding practices such as designing for larger screen sizes (around 980 px wide is now industry standard), designing for more recent browsers (and the features they offer), increased use of technologies such as AJAX and the way that CSS is often split into multiple style sheets (e.g. separate files for layout, typography, colors, forms, etc.) provide the reader with up-to-date knowledge.
